WASATCH COUNTY, Utah (ABC4 Utah) A 12-year-old boy is dead after a snowmobile crash in Wasatch County Monday afternoon.
Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office says Jaxon Lewis of Salt Lake County was riding with his family near the Mill Hollow Reservoir.
Lewis was heading across a ridge line, when an adult family member heading perpendicular up the hillside, unaware of Lewis’ location, struck the boy’s snowmobile in a broadside collision.
He was was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, but still received significant head trauma.
Deputies say the family performed CPR on scene, but the boy was taken to a Salt Lake City hospital where he later died.
