HBO have confirmed that Game of Thrones will definitely end with season 8.
It had long be rumoured the show would be finishing in two seasons, but now we know for sure that as well as being shorter, it will be our final visit to Westeros.
Programming president Casey Bloys revealed the news at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour saying, according to the Hollywood Reporter: “Yes, I think [the showrunners, D.B. Weiss and David Benioff] have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do.
“If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons but we want to take their lead with what they could do and what the best version of the show is.”
Season 7 will consist of seven episodes, rather than the usual 1o but Bloys said no decision had been made over the episode count in 8.
It means we will be waving goodbye to Jon Snow at co sometime during 2018.
Viewers will have to wait a little longer for the new episodes as well, due to the arrival of winter. They’ve been warning since episode one that it was on its way and means production will be delayed due to the weather so that they can capture the chilly season on camera.
The show will be filmed across Northern Ireland as well as filming parts in Spain and Iceland.
“Season 9 is not in our plan , but we can change our plans ! ”
We will put all episodes tommorow on our site !! Thanks for understanding
